1. Applications and Characteristics of Inverter Welding Machine
Inverter welding machine is a new type of welding power supply. The working principle is as follows: First, power frequency voltage of AC network is converted to DC voltage after being rectified and filtered by the rectifier. Then, after the interchangeable effect of high-power switch electronic components like MOSFET or IGBT, the DC voltage is inverted to AC voltage with frequency ranging from tens of kHz to hundreds kHz. Subsequently, the step-down transformer lowers the voltage to tens of volts which is suitable for welding. After that, it's rectified again and filtered by the reactance to get stable output for welding. The high inverting frequency brings about various advantages including reduced volume of welding power, raised welding efficiency and better adaptability to the environment. Due to the above merits, inverter welding machine is widely used in metal-working, such as vessels, space shuttles and high pressure vessels, etc.

The welding is mainly operated manually. It's easy to manipulate and maintenance friendly. It has strong adaptability and applies to many kinds of metal welding which established itself among the most widely accepted welding equipment. The basic working principles of inverter arc welder is as follows: under the protection of certain gases like argon, CO2 or their mixture to prevent against oxidation, solder wires are automatically sent into the welding machine by the wire feeder continuously. Then the welding wires play the role of electrodes and metal is melted by the arc between the welding wire and the weldment to complete the welding. Its outstanding points include high adaptability to mechanization and automation which make it considered the first choice in semi-automatic welding in some metals like carbon steel, stainless steel and low alloy steels.
